12308 is the Global Consular Protection and Services Emergency Hotline of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was opened on September 2, 2014. It provides consular protection and services to Chinese citizens 24 hours a day, 24 hours a year. The functions of 12308 include: providing emergency consultation and guidance on consular protection for Chinese citizens worldwide, and notifying embassies and consulates abroad of relevant requests for assistance; Introduce the handling process of general overseas security incidents and provide relevant suggestions; Undertake the emergency response hotline function for major overseas security incidents involving our personnel; Provide general consultation services such as consular protection and assistance knowledge and consular documents for Chinese citizens.
