Starting from December 28th

Another country and our country mutually waive visas!

The Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of Solomon Islands on Mutual Exemption of Visa for Citizens Holding Ordinary Passports will come into effect on December 28, 2024.

According to the agreement, citizens holding valid Chinese ordinary passports or valid Solomon Islands ordinary passports who enter, exit or transit through the other contracting party, with a single stay not exceeding 30 days and a cumulative stay not exceeding 90 days every 180 days, are exempt from visa application. If you need to stay in the territory of the other contracting party for more than 30 days, or accumulate more than 90 days of stay every 180 days, or engage in activities such as work, study, settlement, news reporting, etc. that require prior approval from the competent authority of the other contracting party, you should apply for the corresponding visa before entering the other contracting party. If the visa free stay period stated in the agreement cannot be extended due to force majeure, an application for an extension of the stay period shall be submitted to the local competent authority with relevant supporting documents.

The governments of China and the United States signed the "Agreement on Mutual Exemption of Visa Requirements for Personnel Holding Diplomatic, Official, Public Service Ordinary Passports" in 2022. Personnel holding relevant passports from both sides can enter each other's country without a visa and stay for no more than 30 days.
